MTT Group of Companies has its origin since 1963, with the establishment of the Malaysia Trade & Transport Co Sdn. Bhd. by the late Dato’ Ong Chin Teik, when we started as one of the local pioneers in barging, stevedoring and shipping.
In 1988, Priority Cargo Sdn. Bhd. and Priority Bonded Warehouse Sdn. Bhd. were founded by Dato’ Dr Kenny Ong, as a natural progression to offer a comprehensive and one-stop total logistics solution. In 1994, Priority Synergy Sdn. Bhd. was setup within the Central Region of Peninsular Malaysia, which initiated the expansion of our presence to the rest of the country and the world.
Dato’ Dr Kenny Ong took over the leadership of the MTT Group in 1995. MTT Group moved to a 13-storey private headquarter building in 1996 and continued to grown financially and in size. We have enjoyed rapid growth with the turn of the millennium in terms of the diversification of our portfolios. We started with the incorporation of the MTT Properties & Development Sdn. Bhd. in 2005, to venture into the township and property development business.
The wealth of expertise and resources in developing ad establishing businesses over the years has prompted us to extend our currency of ideas and practical ability to the business community. Therefore, Priority Resources Sdn. Bhd. was reformulated to house the information service & software solution division and the business service solution & consultancy division, offering innovative information technology software & hardware solutions as well as specialised practical business solutions respectively.
Our vision to enhance the quality of life and humanity was further realised when we founded the Prince of Wales Island International School, or POWIIS®. Our school welcomed its first students in 2011, marking another new chapter of our Group, in which our expertise in education are being accumulated. We were especially honoured to celebrate our official opening with the blessing of Her Royal Highness Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah.
Despite our diversification, MTT Group has never forgotten its historical roots in logistics. In 2010, MTT Shipping Sdn. Bhd. was established to own and manage a fleet of container vessels, which significantly adds to the provision of domestic shipping services within Malaysia.
