Sustainable Energy Development Authority of Malaysia (SEDA Malaysia) is a statutory body formed under the Sustainable Energy Development Authority Act 2011. The key role of SEDA Malaysia is to administer and manage the implementation of the feed-in tariff mechanism which is mandated under the Renewable Energy Act 2011.

1. Senior Deputy Director/ Deputy Director, Strategic Planning
Requirement:
• Master’s degree with at least ten (10) years’ experience of economic analysis and reporting on national, regional and international electricity issues, including a good understanding of price movements, factors shaping electricity demand and supply, market & regulatory developments;
• Excellent understanding on the applied economic analysis, preferably within an energy/ power system context;
• Well-versed and knowledgeable of Malaysia’s Energy Policies, Acts, the Malaysia Electricity Supply Industry and renewable energy would be highly advantageous;
• Excellent understanding on energy issues: national, regional and global energy trends and development and has demonstrated skills to coordinate and develop research areas;
• Proven analytical abilities as demonstrated in the past work products (analytics reports, quantitative analysis, operative models, and/ or published papers);
• Proven professional experience or understanding in any energy/ power sector modelling tools (PLEXOS, CGE, TIMES, MARKAL, LEAP, etc.);
Experience developing, authoring and publication of roadmaps/ blueprints/ books/ book chapter/ journals;
• Team work, action oriented, problem solving, analytical and creative thinking;
Ability to work accurately, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines, as well as organise work efficiently and deal simultaneously with a wide variety of tasks;
• Excellent interpersonal attribute including: sensitivity, sound and strong organisational and leadership capability, able to work effectively and efficiently in a multicultural environment; and
• Well versed in spoken and written Malay and English.
