Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad is an investment holding company. The Company operates in two segments: Port operations and Bulking services. The Port operations segment is engaged in port services and construction services, including construction of port facilities, handling of cargo for liquefied natural gas, petroleum products, liquefied petroleum gas, general cargo, container, dry bulk cargo and other ancillary services. Positions:

1. COMMUNICATIONS CONTROLLER

Job Description:

• Responsible for communication of marine operations to ensure effective, efficient, and safe vessel operation and act as a coordinator for emergency response.

Skills Required:

• Candidate must possess at least Diploma in any maritime related disciplines or at least Watch Keeping Officer (WKO) 500 GRT; OR
• Qualified Ship Radio officer / Airport Traffic controller with a minimum of three (3) years of experience; OR
• Ex-Navy personnel with the minimum rank of Chief Petty Officer (Bintara Kanan) with experience in radar and radio communication; OR
• At least Certificate in Electronic and/or Instrument Engineering from Malaysian Polytechnics or equivalent;
• At least one (1) to three (3) years of working experience in related field;
• Knowledge in general maritime, Navigational system, meteorological and hydrological equipment, proficiency in IMO’s Standard Marine Communication Phrasees (SMCP) is an added advantage;
• Strong communication and good interpersonal skills with excellent oral and written communication (English);
• Computer literate, no hearing problem, good eyesight, not colour blind, and strong planning and analytical skills;
• Able to work independently and well under pressure; and
• Self-confident, resourceful and has ability to work in a team and possess integrity with positive attitude and mindset.
