TNB Research Sdn. Bhd., fondly known as TNBR, has been the in-house solution provider for Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) since 1993. Situated in Kajang, Selangor, the Research & Development (R&D) Centre, provides a centralised, one-stop centre for technical solutions and innovation.
Streams of solutions developed under various Applied Research projects have been introduced to our parent company, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB). These solutions have contributed towards improving the overall operational performance of the company in areas such as power plant unplanned outage rate (UOR), transmission system minutes, distribution system average interruption duration index (SAIDI) and many others.
While continuing the efforts on operational improvement initiatives in TNB, TNB Research is now are embarking on various Advanced Research projects in positioning TNB to be an early adopters of promising technologies. Currently, TNB Research has also embarked on projects of National interest. One such project is the Floating solar project where TNB Research has installed a floating solar system at Labu Lake.

Job Descriptions:
i) Engineer, Technical Services Unit
- Supervise effectively in planning and strategize manpower, equipment and inspection activities at site
- Ensure all the NDT equipment are available and fit to serve the customer at site
- Ensure all the inspection work complete within the time given
- Enable to deliver inspection report within the Service Lead Time
- To ensure inspections are performed in compliance with International standards (ISO / IEC 17020 and other relevant standards) during on-site testing
- Lead the inspection activities during site work
- Analyze the data of the testing result
- Produce technical report of inspection work and responsible to ensure report are compile completely
ii) Technician, Scientific Services Unit
- Technical Assistant
- Site Supervisor
- Laboratory Technician
- Area Sanitation Site Supervisor
Others:
- General maintenance of service equipment such as electrical appliance, blower, pump and etc.
- Preparation of map and other site preparation such as work station setup, mob/demob and etc.
- To record all activities at site such as taking photo, data collection, data sampling and any related task for that particular work services.
- To ensure safety at work site and the smooth flow of work.
- To assist the Immediate Manager for the data collection, analysis, compilation and report preparation.
- Assist specialized key-partner to perform data collection.
- Perform various office works such as photocopying, document binding, document filing works etc.
- To do other tasks as assigned by Immediate Manager.
