Position:

1. SENIOR EXECUTIVE, DIRECT MATERIAL

Responsibilities:

• To assist the Head of Section Procurement in directing the executions of all procurement policies, procedures, and initiatives to ensure cost-effective, timely, and on-time delivery of goods and services in meeting PTP business goals in accordance with PTP and statutory requirements
• To efficiently manage the procurement processes related to Purchase Requisition till Purchase Order is in line with the Procurement SOPs and CPM
• Understands the sourcing management process and how to apply required tools and analysis in the formation and implementation of source plans with objectives to seek savings opportunity, product & process rationalization, strategic alliances with the appropriate parties, and reduction of non-value-added transactions
• To assist in Plan, organizing, direct, manage and are responsible for the purchasing activities, purchasing policies and strategy for Spare Parts/Equipment Category including the identification of opportunities for operational improvements
• To produce relevant reports and analysis as guidance and first-hand information to oversee the purchase trend and forward plans by collating and analyzing items and amount to be spent, in order to identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities as well as establish cost savings target
• To provide cost and price trends in the form of a market report by setting up of database and publication the market reports
• To consider the importance of market knowledge and data analysis to gain critical insights that drive the selection of procurement strategies and continuous improvement activities.
• Actively participate in relevant industry conferences and events as appropriate

Requirements:

• A good Professional degree/Degree from a recognized IPTA / IPTS
• Certified in the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) is an added advantage
• A certificate in Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) is an added advantage
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in a purchasing role with at least 1 year’s supervisory experience
• Experience in procurement and contract management.
• Familiar with material flow and procurement process.
• Strong negotiation, persuasion, obtaining buy-in, and expediting skills
• Result-orientated, confident, and high efficiency in time management
