Job Summary:
  • Drive deal origination and grow BPMB’s deal pipeline focusing on projects which are aligned with national objectives and mandated sectors to ultimately achieve short-term and long-term loan growth targets.
  • Identify key decision makers, build strong and deep-rooted relationships with clients, potential clients, business partners, and potential business partners across multiple industries via various marketing activities.
  • Work as a Partner with MIND & Research to align on national objectives, mandates and technical expertise in their preparation of technical assessment reports / independent assessment reports for BPMB Group.
  • Work as a Partner / Develop colleagues at Corporate Banking and Risk involved in structuring and processing deals from deal origination up to first loan disbursement.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Deliver New Asset Drawdown targets as agreed with Head, Coverage Group 3.
  • Deliver Fee / Revenue targets as agreed with Head, Coverage Group 3.
  • Deliver Profit targets as agreed with Head, Coverage Group 3.
  • Deliver New Customer targets as agreed with Head, Coverage Group 3.
  • Deliver Subset New Underserved Customer targets as agreed with Head, Coverage Group 3.
  • Drive strong customer engagement and bridge working relationships within BPMB Group.
  • Represent BPMB Group in external events, seminars, expos, business clinics, workshops etc to create / deepen awareness of BPMB Group’s mandate, products and services.
  • Represent BPMB Group for customer site visits and prepare necessary Call Reports.
  • Track customer engagements / work stages via periodic tracking reports as and when required by BPMB Group.
  • Structure / Prepare 1st cut Indicative Term Sheets for customer Applications for onward discussions / finalisation with Banking and customer.
  • Complete and ensure accuracy of the relevant Know-Your-Customer formats, processes including but not limited to performing credit check through CTOS, CCRIS, RAMCI, Dow Jones, Google Searches to evaluate customer conduct of account / credit history and disambiguate any findings / red flags.
  • Provide BPMB Group with a comprehensive understanding of the customer’s source of wealth and source of funds.
  • Drive industry / market discussions in the assigned sectors and geography with external and internal counterparties of BPMB Group.
  • Drive discussions on Risk Acceptance Criteria.
  • Identify Key Risks and Propose Mitigants.
  • Be familiar and drive discussions on customer Key Financial Highlights.
  • Drive discussions during GCC / BCC.
  • Liaise with external parties such as auditors, bankers, solicitors, valuers and regulatory authorities during the course of credit evaluation and the supporting departments of BPMB Group.
  • Oversee / Work with Banking in preparing Letters of Offer in accordance with the approved terms and conditions.
  • Ensure Drawdown of New Assets.
  • Enhance knowledge and skills as part of self-development and to assist Head, Group Coverage 3 to develop talent within the team by providing and sharing knowledge and guidance to achieve the desired goals.

Job Requirements:
  • Minimum Degree-holder or Professional Qualification in subjects with high application of knowledge in mathematics (e.g. Degree in economics, accounting, finance, business administration, engineering, actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, etc.).
  • Professional qualification i.e Certified Credit Executive (CCE), Business Credit Professional (BCP), Chartered Banker (CB), etc is preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years in banking or investments or any corporate finance-related function involving evaluation of businesses, industries, promoters, and proposals.
  • Minimum 5 years in a management role.
  • Minimum 3 years in a networking or sales or business development role.
  • Strong Network & Contacts / Eclectic and Effective Communicator & Negotiator with people at all levels.
  • Strong Credit Structuring / Strong Business Report Writing & Research / Able to derive fair conclusions on Financial / Cashflow analysis.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of various regulatory frameworks, concepts, and guidelines produced by various regulatory bodies such as Bank Negara Malaysia and Securities Commission.
  • Able to drive discussions on internal guidelines and policies framework for credit evaluation purposes.
